Taveta Golden Weaver

This Taveta Golden Weaver (Taveta Weaver, Ploceus castaneiceps) was one of many birds that flocked to this spot in the Waterfall Aviary in Jurong Bird Park. It may have had something to do with the keeper, who was beginning a ‘feeding time’ talk.

It is one of 126 species of Weaver (very many of which prominently feature yellow) which are almost all native to Africa. You can also see a Village Weaver on this site.
