The Papango (New Zealand Scaup, Aythya novaeseelaniae) is my favourite duck species.

This one was part of a family group (including ducklings!) on the lower lake in Zealandia Te Mara a Tāne. One place I often see them, when visiting, is Lake Rotorua, where there is often a flock of hundreds near the city jetty.
