A Canada goose is floating calmly on water with a gentle rippling effect. The goose has a distinctive black head and neck with a contrasting white cheek patch. Its body is covered in brown and gray feathers, and its chest is white. The water around the goose reflects its image clearly, creating a mirror effect. The background consists of soft green and yellow hues, likely vegetation reflected in the water. The photo is sharp and well-focused on the goose.

Canada Goose

Considered a pest in Aotearoa New Zealand, the Canada Goose (Kuihi, Branta canadensis) is nevertheless a stately-looking bird.

This was one of several noisily hanging about at the Waimanu Lagoons at the Waikanae River mouth.
