It seems from all my photos of Toutouwai (North Island Robin, Petroica longipes) that they are many different sizes, shapes, and even colours.
Undoubtedly this is just down to angles, lighting, perhaps ages, as well as how they are carrying themselves with regard to temperature and attentiveness.
This one stared curiously straight down my camera lens, lending it a slender shape and making apparent its “eyebrows”.
