The image shows a vibrant yellow bird perched on a green stem. The bird has a rich golden-yellow plumage with slightly paler yellow underparts. Its head is a deeper shade of yellow with a small black beak that is slightly curved downwards. The bird's eyes are not visible in the image. It has a sleek body with delicate legs clasping the stem, and one of its legs has a silver band around it. The background is a soft focus of greenery, suggesting a natural, leafy habitat.

Taveta Golden Weaver

The Taveta Golden Weaver (Taveta Weaver, Ploceus castaneiceps) is one of my favourite exotic birds. Did I mention yellow is my favourite colour?

The previous photo (see below) that I posted was taken at Jurong Bird Park in Singapore. This was taken at Jurong’s replacement, Mandai Bird Paradise.

I love this photo so much, it often adorns my smartphone lock screen.
