The image shows a bird perched on the forest floor among dried leaves and twigs. The bird has a gradient of colors starting from a purplish-grey head fading into an olive-green body, with a dark grey to black tail and wing feathers. It has a sharp black beak, and its legs are banded with coloured rings on each. The bird appears to be in a natural, calm state in its habitat. The background is softly blurred, highlighting the bird as the main subject.

Korimako

In a previous post (see below) I featured a juvenile Korimako (Bellbird, Anthornis melanura) which I said was “following Dad around…”.

This is Dad, foraging in the leaf litter directly below where Junior was waiting.
