The image shows a kea, a large parrot native to New Zealand, in mid-flight. The bird is captured with its wings spread wide, showcasing its vibrant plumage. The kea's feathers are a mix of olive green, with bright orange-red under its wings and tail. The tips of its wings have a bluish hue. The background is blurred, highlighting the kea as the focal point of the image. The bird's sharp, curved beak is visible, and its eyes are focused forward.

I’ve been trying for a while now to capture a Kea (Nestor notabilis) in flight. It finally happened on a recent visit to Arthur’s Pass Village.
