The image shows a bird perched on a horizontal branch. The bird has a striking appearance with a combination of white, black, and yellow colors. Its head, throat, and underparts are predominantly white, with a distinctive yellow patch just above the beak and around the eyes. The beak is yellow and pointed. The bird's back and wings are black, providing a sharp contrast to the white. The background is a soft focus of green foliage, suggesting a natural, leafy habitat.

Black-winged Myna

The Black-winged Myna (Acridotheres melanopterus) is endemic to Indonesia but has declined alarmingly due to the caged bird trade. Some estimates say by 80% in the space of a decade.

This one was technically caged, but I believe Mandai Bird Paradise, in Singapore, will be treating them well and possibly participating in breeding programmes.
